It was a very cloudy (gloomy) day on Saturday and I wasn't sure if it would even work for an in-home session (since I do shoot mostly natural light pictures only)- but never fret - my trusty SB 800 (flash) was on hand to aid & assist! and look. how. cute. lil Mr. E is with his 2 (fur babies) brothers :) Mr E is around the same age as my Iain -such a FUN age and I LOVE it when I can capture the PERFECT family shot. Thank you so much for having me in your home to capture this special time in your lives - MERRY CHRISTMAS & Blessings, Janice

I have started pulling images of this last year of our boys & family to make a slide show - my thoughts are I can do this every year around this time as the boys grow up & that way one day we can look back on them & "relive" all the memories. I should have been doing this all along since Gavin is already 4 yrs old - but better late than never right?
So I thought as I get a few together I will try to share some here......this is from the last few weeks: late night potato head play with Lauren (how else do you entertain a 10 mo old at midnight when he won't go back to sleep?) and one of Gavin, he LOVES to color often these days....K & I enjoy coloring with him also :), and a miracle - at 10 mos Iain FINALLY started sleeping all night......................shew......Thank you God for these lovely moments.............I hope you all cherish and adore moments like these with your own family..............................many blessings and MERRY CHRISTMAS,
Janice

ok so a couple of days before Thanksgiving the boys & I loaded up & drove across the metroplex to see Miss Lauren (aka my SUPER sweetie niece) for the day -- & we ventured to a FAV food spot -- PANDA EXPRESS - I will let the cup speak for itself there!!! YUM-O!!!!!
(the following images were all taken with the family point & shoot so forgive the technical yuckies!!!)
then on Thanksgiving day - Kenney (the hubby) & I loaded the boys up for a quick play at the park -- Iain Maddox LOVED --LOVED the swing -- he stayed in it for 30 minutes I kid you not :)
and my sweet Gavin Magregor hanging out at the casa in his new CARS ski hat that he REFUSES to take off he wears it to bed & the other day his preschool teacher said he wore it ALL DAY !!! he is such a sweetie though - this morning when we over slept for church & I was rushing to get everyone ready - he says "Oh Mama- just act like a mama" -- whatever that means???? then after church he tells me that baby Jesus came into his class at church -? hmmmmm................ interesting

Alright so a fellow photographer friend, Kristen Kalp of Essential Imagery in PA, placed a challenge out for our photography community to give the gift of photography to a family in need this holiday season. What better time than now!
I accept this challenge, and now it is your turn to do your part.
If you are a blog reader, friend or client please join us by nominating someone in need. If you are another professional photographer please join us by making this offer to your community as well.
(The following post was shared by Kristen for this cause
)
You know someone. You know someone who's
experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids
while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly
despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can't
afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday
season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their
family's spirit, love, and beauty.
You know someone. I guarantee it.
I
want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to
experience complimentary custom photography – $1000 worth, to be exact. This will include a full session, complete set of 5x7 images from session, and $500 in prints up to 16x24 and a DVD slideshow to
watch over and over...it's in your power to give them the artwork they
deserve this holiday season.
Oh, and the best part? The person
who nominates the winner receives a complimentary session and a $250 print credit. What better
reason to show some love could there possibly be, people? AND I will be doing this in 2 areas: the Dallas area & my hometown of Waco!!!
The rules:
You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a Mini Mansion home does not qualify as sincere financial need.) I realize many of us at at a point where custom photography is out of the question, heck my own family would be stretching it to afford alot right now-- but seriously I want to help those that are REALLY struggling to afford anything right now or maybe its that they have just overcome a great hardship or currently going through something and could really use this gift that will bring JOY!!!
The nominees must reside in the north Dallas areas- Collin, Rockwall, Dallas or Denton Counties or the Waco area (and any surrounding areas there) Waco isn't that big! :)
Tell me who you know, what they're experiencing, and why they deserve this gift. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.
The photo shoot must be done by end of Feb 2009 and all selections
be made within 14 days of posting the proofs.
The photo shoot will
accommodate up to 5 people.
Comment on this blog entry to let me know you've entered, and e-mail me the full story: janice@adorationsphoto.com.
The winner will be announced on New Years Eve...get nominating! I can't wait to read all of your entries!
Open your heart to someone this holiday season – and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

Ok so did you see the new SLIDE gallery over there on the left???
I am working on a new site hopefully to launch after the first of the new year with new galleries including a senior girls gallery!!! Why senior "chicks" only. Well, have you seen the little chick in my logo? and also because even though I am a mom of 2 WONDERFUL boys -- I really enjoy photography HS senior girls. COOL outfits, FUN locations, great BFFs (oh yea, and when you book a session for your senior portraits - I encourage you to bring along a friend or two !!!) I know this is not usually the time when most book their senior portraits so I thought a promotion was in order.
The GOODS: book a senior session for anytime in Jan 10 - March 7 and receive a $200 print credit towards your FAV images from your session. Senior session fees are $125 and include 3 locations & 4 (maybe 5 :) ) outfit changes for you & up to 2 friends!!! Sessions will also include 2 web sized images for emailing friends, facebook or myspace. Also, If you are a Rockwall area Senior please indicate referrals for that special.

Remember this sweet smile?
So Mr "P" had to have his first session date rescheduled & then it looked like it would not work to do it this weekend either due to bad weather - but then the sun came out & played a quick trick on us - so it was back on -- that is until we arrived at a very windy & cold (although beautiful) park - so I snapped fast & look at the results - 100% cuteness. Of course 5 minutes into my drive home the sun appears again & then it starts to rain-- hello McFly? Texas weather ;)
V & family - Thanks so much for braving the cold with me. Many blessings, Janice
